About the Founder
I’m Jea Tang, the founder and creative visionary behind this vibrant space celebrating AANHPI craftsmanship and culture.
My journey into creative entrepreneurship began during the COVID19 pandemic in 2020 when I founded Dreaming of Clay, a small handmade jewelry business. It was through Dreaming of Clay that I fully realized my artistry and identity, finding joy and fulfillment in creating beautiful pieces that reflected my heritage and passions.
As I navigated the world of entrepreneurship, I had the privilege of connecting with amazing business owners and creatives who were deeply rooted in their missions and values. These connections became the heart and soul of my entrepreneurial journey, inspiring me to create something more than just a business. As I explored different markets in South Florida, I couldn’t shake the feeling of disjointedness. It was challenging to find a curated space that truly represented the diversity and richness of AANHPI creativity. That’s when the idea for LAROWAN began to take shape.
Reflecting on my happiest childhood memories, I realized the importance of fostering a sense of fun, exploration, and community for future generations. I envisioned a space where people could see a piece of their heritage in the products around them, where they could say, “this is a little bit of my mom” or “this is from dad’s side.”
Looking back on my journey with Dreaming of Clay, I am grateful for the opportunity it provided me to fully embrace my artistry and identity. I want to answer this calling of “being the north star” to others; to be a guiding light for others to find inspiration, purpose, and fulfillment in their own creative endeavors. It was through this experience that I found the courage to embark on a new chapter with LAROWAN, a culmination of my creative passions and storytelling, a space where community and creativity thrive.
